Curriculum

Curriculum Intent

At Bordesley Green Primary School we have designed our high-quality curriculum with pupils’ learning and cultural heritage at the centre. We recognise that our curriculum must be broad and balanced, offering all our pupils the best possible opportunities to engage with their learning and grow as individuals.

We want Bordesley Green children to believe in themselves, to take opportunities to try new things, to challenge themselves and keep themselves safe. We support them to become thoughtful, successful and independent individuals, ready for the next phase of their education. They will be equipped with transferable skills and knowledge to enable them to be successful in their life-long learning and become respectful members of the community. We believe that it is important that our pupils have an enriched learning experience, providing them with a range of experiences and opportunities to enable them to contribute positively to society.

We recognise that pupils should be challenged in their schooling, learning from mistakes and celebrating their successes. We intend for our curriculum to be empowering, enabling pupils to develop their interpersonal skills: self-control, integrity, creativity and independence.

Our curriculum provides the opportunity for us to teach the children of Bordesley Green Primary School the values of courage, confidence, resilience and perseverance as we work together. It provides ongoing opportunities for children to demonstrate teamwork, to respect other’s views and show empathy and kindness.
