    By now, if your child is in Year 6 you should have received an offer of a school place for September 2018.  Click here to find a few dates that are important to you.

    World Book Day 2018

    On Thursday 1st March 2018, we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as heroes and villians from our favourite books. Everyone looked amaxing. We are also celebrating reading with visits from a variety of published authors, competitions and reading activities throughout the whole week. 

    Author visit - Steve Smallman

    We have kicked of our World book week with a visit by Steve Smallman, author of books such as 'Dragon Stew' and 'Hippobottymas'. Steve spent time in each Year 3 and Year 4 class talking about his work as an author and also demonstrating some of his talents as an illustrator. The children really enjoyed asking him questions and having a go at drawing their own storybook characters. 

    Smile Relief Update

    In 2017, Bordesley Green Primary School raised over £2000 for the Smile Relief campaign which is dedicated to providing better education for children in developing countries. The Penny Apeeal charity were able to use this money to rebuild a school in Sudan thanks to support of the children and parents of Bordesley Green Primary School. Thank you once again for your generosity. 

    Christmas has arrived at BGPS

    Ho! Ho! Ho! Thank you to all of our little helpers who have helped to decorate the school this afternoon. We are all feeling very festive now! 

    UNICEF Rights Respecting School

    This week we found out we have successfully achieved the Unicef UK Recognition of Commitment (ROC) for our rights-respecting work.

    Over the coming months, we will continue to work on the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child, under the guidnace of Mrs Grimes and Miss Harris in order to achieve both the Level 1 and Level 2 awards.

    Children in Need 2017

    On Friday the 17th November, we held a special fund raising day for Children in Need. We had a dress sporty day were everyone came dressed in sports clothes. In the morning we had a cake sale and in the afternoon we held the Pudsey Games, where children took part in the sport of their choice. In total we managed to raise an amazing £1,500 for Children in Need. Well done everyone!

    Silver Reward Treat

    During February, we had our silver reward treat for all of the children who had completed their silver reward card by half term. Alex from Circusology came to school and led a series of circus skills workshops. The lucky children got to learn how to juggle, use a diablo, spin plates and ride a unicycle.ead.

    World Book Day 2017

    On Thursday 2nd March we all helped to celebrate World book day by coming to school dressed as either a prince or a princess. Over the course of the day all of the children took part in a variety of reading based activities.

    Comic Relief 2017

    Thank you!

    We would like to thank all the pupils, parents and staff at Bordesley Green Primary School for their cooperation and support during red nose day (Comic Relief).  Wlrking together as a community, we raised a remarkable 


    Fathers' Week 2017

    Thank you to all of the fathers, brothers, uncles and grandads who came into school during fathers' week to work with the children and helped to make it such a huge success. Once again we had over 250 attend across the school taking part in a variety of activities from basketball to clay model making.
